Born in Los Angeles, Barbara Leonard Duncan has spent
her life in California. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree
in Sculpture, married a fellow student and came to Sausalito to raise
a family. Now, after a thirty-year hiatus in the East Bay, Duncan
has returned to town where she now lives on the Pirate, a remodeled
tug boat.
Watercolors became her medium of choice when storage for a ton of
marble proved tricky. She has studied under Sumi Master Chiura Obata,
Sculptors Jacques Schnier and Richard O'Hanlon, and watercolorists
Leo Zeigler and Carolyn Lord. Duncan became a signature member of
the California Watercolor Association in 1996.
She has exhibited in the first ten Sausalito Art Shows, the Eastbay
Watercolor Society's Annual Exhibition for 1994 and 1995, and in the
Artists of Issaquah Dock in 2003, among others. |
